VIETNAM ADVENTURE TOURS

The diverse landscapes of Vietnam make it a perfect destination for an adventure tour.  With hilly scenery, lush green jungles, pristine beaches, and flatlands, Vietnam is rapidly emerging as one of the most exciting new destinations for adventure holidays in Asia.  Geographically, Vietnam can be divided in to three main regions, each of which offers unique adventure opportunities. Additionally, the beautiful architectural wonders and rich culture create an exotic backdrop to an adventure holiday.

The North of Vietnam covers Hanoi, the mountainous areas along the Chinese border and the World Heritage Site Halong Bay. The capital city of Hanoi and its surroundings are great places to explore by bicycle, traveling the local way through small villages and past immense farmlands. Halong Bay offers some of the most magnificent views of Vietnam which are even more spectacular when viewed from a kayak! In the northwestern area of Sapa, trekking is the main event. Here the scenery is filled with lush hills and is home to Vietnam’s highest peak, Mt. Fansipan. Treks in Sapa can range from a short day hike to an ethnic hill tribe village to a long, ambitious expedition up Mt. Fansipan.

Central Vietnam is home to the ancient city of Hue and the charming trading town of Hoi An. While these cultural sites are popular with visitors, the central region is also a great place for adventure. The area of Pu Luong may be lesser known than Sapa, but the trekking is equally spectacular. The area is filled with limestone hills and is home to the Cuoc Phuong National Park, an area of astonishing natural beauty and biodiversity. Slightly further south, the Central Highlands is a challenging trekking area filled with unique hill tribe villages. Trekkers have opportunities to explore not only Vietnam’s wildlife and other natural heritage, but also witness the diversity and richness of the hill tribe cultures as these ethnic people go about their traditional ways of life in local markets and remote villages.

The highlight of Vietnam’s South is undoubtedly the Mekong Delta. This lush, rural area is filled with meandering trails perfect for cycling. Explore remote villages, busy markets, and meet friendly locals on an easy pedal through the Delta.

For an epic adventure, a north to south cycling journey is a fabulous way to see the country. Or create a combination holiday of cycling, trekking, and water sports. The possibilities are endless in Vietnam and Exotissimo’s Adventure Department can develop an itinerary just for you.
